£12.6 Billion of tax is being paid unnecessarily, according to Which?. That averages out to around £421 per taxpayer in 2012! Figures show that £7.26 billion of overpaid tax are unclaimed tax credits. Within the past ten years £88.6 billion has been overpaid.
